Brodifacoum - seriously scary.....

Justine from The Brook

Brodifacoum data sheet - scary stuff. Please note the hightlighted areas. This stuff is extremely toxic and was NEVER meant to be used in anything other than a bait station! Note on page 2 that "bait should be prevented from entering streams or waterways". Also on page 2 re loading bait. This will be happening in Brook Street just across the load from homes - how will these residents (and their pets) be protected from dust? Page 3 discusses secondary poisoning - this will affect domestic cats (if they eat a non-mortally poisoned bird or mouse) and dogs (who scavenge any non-mortally poisoned creature). The sanctuary fence has proven that it cannot remain entire in basic weather conditions. Page 4 again states "take measures to minimise the chance of baits entering any body ot water". How are the Sanctuary volunteers going to manage this? It goes on to say "exposed bodies of all poisoned animals whould be collected and destroyed by complete burning or deep burial at a landfill approved for hazardous wastes". Again, how it this being managed?
