Did you know about this fire over the weekend?

Libby Reporter from Waikato Local

Families and management of a major Hamilton city marae are in mourning after its wharenui was all but destroyed in an overnight blaze.

The meeting house at Hui Te Rangiora Marae in Clarence St, known as Tu Waerae, was opened in November 1974 by the first Māori Queen, Te Atairangikaahu.

Fundraiser movie for Nelson Civic Choir - TINA

Ted from The Wood

We are screening the movie Tinā as a fundraiser for Nelson Civic Choir. This is a heartwarming New Zealand story, set in Christchurch after the earthquakes, demonstrating the power of making music together.
At Nelson Civic Choir, we experience that power on a regular basis - the challenge of learning a new piece of music; the skill of our choir director to teach and encourage us to improve our sound; and the awe when we fill an auditorium with wonderful harmonies for our audiences.
Unfortunately, everything comes with a price… so we are asking for your help to raise some extra funds. For just $25 you can come and see this wonderful movie and help us in the production costs of our next concert!
We will be showing the movie at 6.30pm on Friday 21 March, at the Suter cinema.
To secure your ticket, please email tickets@nelsoncivicchoir.com with
- the names of those attending (we will have a list at the door) and
- the name of the account that will appear on our bank statement;
And pay online into 03-1354-0642611-00 with
- TINA in the reference details.
Many Thanks
