Youth Suicide

Lew from Hope

Much has been stated about the extremely high rate of youth suicide in NZ. We must be very careful when making comparisons with other countries owing to cultural differences and differences in standards of proof required in the Coroner’s Court. Working from the core data, the Mortality Tables, I have made a meticulous comparison between the NZ rates and those of England and Wales. My conclusion is that the NZ rates of youth suicide are higher than those of England and Wales by a factor of at least 1.9 for males and 2.8 for females. This shocking situation can only be turned around when our politicians hearts and minds are focused on it, so if you are concerned about this, then before you vote, please ask the politician you intend to vote for what they propose to do about it.

Where possible, do you think employees should be able to work from home? Vote below and share your thoughts in the comments.
