Horse's Birthday Party

Jim Kennard from Whakatu Riding for the Disabled Association

Whakatu RDA horses' birthday party last Saturday was a great success on a lovely, sunny day. There was a good turn out of people to meet the horses, watch displays of the work they do, enjoy the food that volunteers had brought in and get their names down for some great raffles.
The Nelson Freemason lodges also took the opportunity to present Whakatu RDA with a cheque for over $4,000 raised by Lodge members and to be used to carry out long overdue fencing and paddock improvements. Thank you to the Freemasons Nelson and NZ from us all at Whakatu RDA.
We are always in need of more funds to help care for our ten or so horses and ensure they are always ready and fit for their disabled riders. Any donation, however small, is always welcome and can be easily done through our givealittle site.

Poll: Do you think NZ should ban social media for youth?

The Team from Neighbourly.co.nz

The Australian Prime Minister has expressed plans to ban social media use for children.

This would make it illegal for under 16-year-olds to have accounts on platforms including TikTok, Instagram, Facebook and X.
Social media platforms would be tasked with ensuring children have no access (under-age children and their parents wouldn’t be penalised for breaching the age limit)
.
Do you think NZ should follow suit? Vote in our poll and share your thoughts below.
