Tell us about your neighbourhood champions!

Neighbourhood Support Nelson

Do you have someone in your neighbourhood who goes the extra mile for their neighbours? It could be that they make an effort to welcome new neighbours, share produce from their garden, support elderly people in the neighbourhood, or organise neighbourhood events or projects.
Well, here’s your chance to see that they’re recognised for what they do. Nominate them for a neighbourhood champion award, and they could be in line for a wee treat. The awards are being run by Neighbourhood Support Nelson and you can nominate someone by filling out a nomination form here, or at nsnelson.org/about/stories-&-photos or phone 5464902 and ask for a form to be sent to you.
Nominations close September 1 and the awards will be presented at the Neighbourhood Support Nelson AGM on September 26.

Poll: Do you think NZ should ban social media for youth?

The Team from Neighbourly.co.nz

The Australian Prime Minister has expressed plans to ban social media use for children.

This would make it illegal for under 16-year-olds to have accounts on platforms including TikTok, Instagram, Facebook and X.
Social media platforms would be tasked with ensuring children have no access (under-age children and their parents wouldn’t be penalised for breaching the age limit)
.
Do you think NZ should follow suit? Vote in our poll and share your thoughts below.
