E COLI WARNING FOR BOATIES
I have just got home from 10 days in hospital and urge boaties to take this advice seriously. If you are launching from ramp in Nelson marina.Apparently Ecoli levels are high in the area and swimming is extremely hazardous.Make sure you have no broken skin on any part of you that may come into contact with the water or wear water proof waders etc.The bacteria if it gets into the blood stream will settle in a joint especially a metal hip or similar. The pain is not what I would wish to my worst enemy if Ihad one.My hip was cut open and high pressure washed out and sewn up again.was on intravenous anti biotics for many days and now on on anti B tablets for month.PLEASE take note of this warning and Iwould implore live- on- boat people to take extreme care of their sewerage as Ecoli comes from faeces i have been informed. Finally i wouldlike to thank the nursing and medical staff Ward 9 for there excellent care.
