"Kia ora – Andrew Watson from New World Blenheim here. Keen to discover a new top drop in time for summer?

My favourite wine from this year’s New World Wine Awards is the Kingston Estate Clare Valley Shiraz 2018. Shiraz is a slightly sweet bold and fruity style, it’s more robust than Pinot Noirs but not heavy like Cab Sauv’s if you’re looking for the perfect balanced red. I find the plum notes very appealing and while this wine is young it’s still robust, and with a couple of years cellaring it will be a fantastic drop.

Come into your local New World and explore the Top 50 Gold-medal winning wines – we have winners for every budget. Plus join us for complimentary wine sampling and try before you buy.

What should the fate be of dogs found attacking stock?

Carly Gooch Reporter from The Nelson Mail

Two farms in the Tasman region have lost lambs to dog attacks recently. One of the dogs is being rehomed. Farmers are legally allowed to destroy a dog if it's caught in the act of attacking stock. What do you think about a dog owner's responsibilities and the fate of attacking dogs?

Industrial action will affect the provision of radiology services (X-ray, CT & MRI) in Nelson and Wairau Hospitals today (Wednesday).
Please note: Ultrasound services are unaffected.

All hospitals nationwide are preparing for a further strike by Medical Imaging Technologists (MITs) who are covered by the Association of Professional and Executive Employees (APEX) collective employment agreement.

Some of our MITs will participate in a 24-hour withdrawal of labour from:
0700 Wednesday 16 October to 0700 Thursday 17 October.

Our contingency planning team has worked hard to minimise the potential effects of the strike on patient care, prioritising the continuation of emergency and urgent services during the strike.

The provision of radiology services at Nelson & Wairau Hospitals, including the Emergency Departments, will be affected during the periods of industrial action.

Thank you for your patience.
