Cooking Classes for Seniors
Our next Just Cook 4 Healthy Ageing Class is coming up in July. This is run in conjunction with the NZ Nutrition Foundation and is delivered by myself. There are 4 classes over a month each lasting 3 hours. We cover Nutrition and there's a demo followed by time for you to cook the dish. Then we all sit down together and eat it. We are looking for people over the age of 65 who have a need for more motivation to cook healthy food for themselves, require a bit more confidence in the kitchen and to improve your cooking skills a bit. If you are looking for a place to extend your repetoire in the kitchen this is not the course for you. It's a fun time and you meet people who are similar to yourself. If you would like more information please contact me at sallyrees60@gmail.com Applications close on July 10th and there are a limited number of places. There is no charge for this course.
Poll: Do you think banning gang patches is reasonable?
With the government cracking down on gangs, it is now illegal for gang members to display their insignia in public places whether through clothing or their property.
This means arrests can be made if these patches are worn in places like restaurants, shops, on public transport or ferries, and on airplanes. Arrests were made recently at a funeral.

Kia ora neighbours. If you've got a family recipe for courgettes, we'd love to see it and maybe publish it in our magazine. Send your recipe to mailbox@nzgardener.co.nz, and if we use it in the mag, you will receive a free copy of our January 2025 issue.
Poll: Should all neighbours have to contribute to improvements?
An Auckland court has ruled a woman doesn’t have to contribute towards the cost of fixing a driveway she shares with 10 neighbours.
When thinking about fences, driveways or tree felling, for example, do you think all neighbours should have to pay if the improvements directly benefit them?
