Swan plant cuttings needed for poor starving Monarch caterpillars
Hello neighbours,I ,like many others, have been helping to get Monarch butterflies safely through their caterpillar and chrysalis stages each spring/summer.If not kept away from paper wasps and some other insects, hardly any actually become butterflies around here. This year there has strangely been no activity on my plants here in Stoke, but a friend in Hope has started doing it and due to some very proliferic breeders, her plants and my adopted ones are now stripped ,with dozens of caterpillars needing to reach chrysalis still, and more eggs laid.I used to be able to get extra greenery from the railway reserve, but the council in it' s stupid wisdom has seen to have all swan plants there pulled out,and possibly poisoned.Duh.Anyone out there who is willing to donate leafy shoots from their larger plant(s) please contact me,the butterflies would really appreciate it.Thanks Judy 5479143
Live Q&A: Garden maintenance with Crewcut
This Wednesday, we are having another Neighbourly Q&A session. This time with John Bracewell from Crewcut.
John Bracewell, former Black Caps coach turned Franchisee Development Manager and currently the face of Crewcut’s #Movember campaign, knows a thing or two about keeping the grass looking sharp—whether it’s on a cricket pitch or in your backyard!
As a seasoned Crewcut franchisee, John is excited to answer your lawn and gardening questions. After years of perfecting the greens on the field, he's ready to share tips on how to knock your garden out of the park. Let's just say he’s as passionate about lush lawns as he is about a good game of cricket!
John is happy to answer questions about lawn mowing, tree/hedge trimming, tidying your garden, ride on mowing, you name it! He'll be online on Wednesday, 27th of November to answer them all.

Poll: Should all neighbours have to contribute to improvements?
An Auckland court has ruled a woman doesn’t have to contribute towards the cost of fixing a driveway she shares with 10 neighbours.
When thinking about fences, driveways or tree felling, for example, do you think all neighbours should have to pay if the improvements directly benefit them?

Trip to Christchurch
Hi neighbors, I'm going to CHC next Friday, leaving 9ish, coming back Saturday or Sunday. I have space for 2 people and or some freight each way. A bit of fuel contribution would be nice. I'm thinking of $ 40 . Txt me if interested, I'm not checking this account often... Karin 027 2747872 PS I have a Hyundai IX35, so not a small car.
