Thousands enjoy Christmas Parade.
It was all song and cheer in Napier on Sunday when thousands of residents turned out for the city's fourth annual Christmas Parade.
Thirty-eight floats took part in the 40-minute parade, which was led by the New Zealand Fire Service and took a new route this year through Clive Square, then up Tennyson St, down Emerson St and finishing again at Clive Square.
Alexander Construction Company was awarded best float for their Santa's workshop replica, with the Art Deco Trust awarded runner-up and The Drama Workshop in third.
Napier City Business Incorporation manager Zoe Barnes✓ said the event was well-attended, with the clear highlight being Santa's appearance.
Many children gave Santa their wish lists so he could determine his naughty or nice list after the parade.

Poll: Should drivers retake the theory test every 10 years?
Drivers get where they need to go, but sometimes it seems that we are all abiding by different road rules (for example, the varying ways drivers indicate around a roundabout).
Do you think drivers should be required to take a quick driving theory test every 10 years?
