Primary School Maths and Science?

Robin Hicks from FOCUS Learning Centre Napier

The most damning report ever out on the maths and science achievement levels of our primary/intermediate school students. Sadly we see this every day, regardless of the reasons (and there are many very obvious ones), the simple facts are, kids are missing out. This report confirms our experience; very few students entering high school are at the expected level in maths and most have done hardly any science. At FOCUS, we offer teacher led programmes to try and ensure our students have the base skills expected for Y9 in maths and in written language. We can also support your Y9/10 students struggling with these subjects. Talk to us about 2021; catch up, keep up, or get ahead!

Poll: Do you think banning gang patches is reasonable?

The Team from Neighbourly.co.nz

With the government cracking down on gangs, it is now illegal for gang members to display their insignia in public places whether through clothing or their property.

This means arrests can be made if these patches are worn in places like restaurants, shops, on public transport or ferries, and on airplanes. Arrests were made recently at a funeral.

Do you think this ban is reasonable?
