Fire restrictions now in place

The Neighbourly Team

As of the 11th of January, a permit will be required to light an open fire in Central Hawke’s Bay and Hastings Rural District

District Manager of Fire and Emergency, Ken Cooper, has shared that this change from open to restricted has come after several fires in the Hawke's Bay getting out of control due to the heat and conditions being much drier.

"If you’re wanting to light an outdoor fire, make sure you apply for a fire permit and follow the conditions of your permit. Let’s all do our part to keep safe and prevent wildfires in the Hawke’s Bay." says Ken Cooper.
