Kaurihohore Hall receives financial boost through publication of local book sales
Following on from the success of the popular local history book Memories of Kaurihohore and Vinegar Hill the organising committee has presented a cheque to the Kaurihohore Hall, being proceeds from its book sales.
The book is in its 3rd reprint and is available from selected outlets as well as the Facebook site www.facebook.com.... Readers may also be interested to attend a talk being given on the history of Kaurihohore - part of the Library Heritage Talk Series - on Friday 26th March at the Cafler Suite, Forum North. Books will be available for purchase there.
Left to Right: Shona Goodland, Chairperson of the Kaurihohore Hall Committee, and members of the book committee: Jane Garrick, Judy Tuckey, Bev and Max McKenzie.
Poll: Do you think NZ should ban social media for youth?
The Australian Prime Minister has expressed plans to ban social media use for children.
This would make it illegal for under 16-year-olds to have accounts on platforms including TikTok, Instagram, Facebook and X.
Social media platforms would be tasked with ensuring children have no access (under-age children and their parents wouldn’t be penalised for breaching the age limit)
.
Do you think NZ should follow suit? Vote in our poll and share your thoughts below.
