Hill closures in February
Waka Kotahi NZ Transport Agency advises that State Highway 2 (SH2) over the Remutaka Hill will be closed for five nights 9pm to 4am, starting 9pm Sunday night 27 February and finishing 4am Friday morning 4 March to allow crews to safely complete essential work.
Please note that extensive resurfacing works are taking place. They will NOT be able to offer a 10.30pm escorted crossing because of the amount of work being done across the road at that time. For shift workers and those who must travel, they can provide only three escorted crossings per night to fit in with the progress of work. Trucks will NOT be able to cross during the 9pm-4am closure times.
Times for the three escorted crossings per night are:
. 11.30pm Featherston to Upper Hutt
. 12.30am Upper Hutt to Featherston
. 1.30am Featherston to Upper Hutt
.
Bookings for escorted crossings are essential as numbers are limited for your safety and the safety of workers at multiple sites across the hill and should be arranged by Friday 25 February EMAIL: customer@capitaljourneys.co.nz.
Poll: Should all neighbours have to contribute to improvements?
An Auckland court has ruled a woman doesn’t have to contribute towards the cost of fixing a driveway she shares with 10 neighbours.
When thinking about fences, driveways or tree felling, for example, do you think all neighbours should have to pay if the improvements directly benefit them?
