New lane layout on Masterton Road
The NZ Transport Agency says a new lane layout will improve safety for all road users on a busy section of State Highway 2 at the northern end of Masterton.
The two lanes in the northbound direction between Chapel Street and Te Ore Ore Road (passing over the Waipoua River bridge) will be reduced to one lane, improving safety at the zebra crossing and allowing more space for cyclists. Keep updated here
Poll: Do you think NZ should ban social media for youth?
The Australian Prime Minister has expressed plans to ban social media use for children.
This would make it illegal for under 16-year-olds to have accounts on platforms including TikTok, Instagram, Facebook and X.
Social media platforms would be tasked with ensuring children have no access (under-age children and their parents wouldn’t be penalised for breaching the age limit)
.
