No peas, no pea weevil in the Wairarapa…
Pea weevil restrictions are still in place.
We have reduced the number of pests invading our plants, but still need your help to eradicate this completely. So please, no pea planting, no pea seeds and no pea straw.
Pea weevil was detected in 2016 and we have been successful with restrictions that were set in place. This pest has the potential to destroy pea crops, so restrictions are for both commercial and residential growers. With your help, we can eradicate pea weevil completely.
If you see peas growing get in touch: 0800 80 99 66 or mpi.govt.nz/peaweevil
