Photographic Competition
It's on again - pick up a entry form from Delicious Homewares store on Mapua wharf, download from this notice or email: mapuaboatclubevents@gmail.com and we will send you one. Entries are limited to 5 photos taken within the Tasman Bay area. Categories include nature, people, boats. Take your images to Copyart located at 6 McGlashen Ave in Richmond and they will print your images for $2.50 per print. Entries close Friday 30th September and photos will be exhibited at the Port Mapua Maritime Museum on Mapua wharf from 3rd October through to Sunday 16th October. Prizegiving takes place at 4pm on Sunday 16th October at the Mapua Boat Club rooms.
Poll: Do you think banning gang patches is reasonable?
With the government cracking down on gangs, it is now illegal for gang members to display their insignia in public places whether through clothing or their property.
This means arrests can be made if these patches are worn in places like restaurants, shops, on public transport or ferries, and on airplanes. Arrests were made recently at a funeral.
