Royal Commission of Inquiry into the NZ Family Court.

George from Langs Beach - Waipu

Uphold the UN recommendation that there is a Royal Commission of Inquiry into the NZ Family Court.

In our last update we let you know that the CEDAW recommendations to the New Zealand Government were made public on 20th July and included;

A Royal Commission of Inquiry into the Family Court
Reinstating the Bristol Clauses into the Care of Children Act
Avoiding the use of parental alienation in child custody proceedings
Using risk assessments in child custody proceedings
Stopping the use of mediation and joint court facilitated interventions when there are violence and abuse allegations

The very same day, Andrew Little stated in the media there would be NO Royal Commission and his review of the 2014 Family Court reforms was going ahead.

We were shocked that he could unilaterally make this decision without appearing to consult with cabinet.

Please sign and share the Backbone members' petition - let's show the Government that they can't just dismiss the United Nations or women as easily as that.

The more people are behind an issue - the more likely it is that decision makers will pay attention. Each name that is added to a campaign takes it one step closer to succeeding.Can you help spread the word about the campaign by sharing it with your friends and family?

Dear friends,
