Venue: Alicetown Community Centre, 38 Victoria Street, Alicetown, Lower Hutt.
This documentary shows beautiful solutions adopted by communities across a number of countries to some of the problems of industrial agriculture, fossil fuel consumption, and social and environmental degradation which have created our current climate emergency, and are rapidly putting the health and wellbeing of ourselves and all other species at risk.
Tonight the sections covered will include: economics/money, democracy, and education.

Come along watch the film, share in the group discussion and have a cup of tea and a biscuit.

If the Wellington region experiences a big earthquake, communities may need to rely on themselves for up to a week or more before official help can get through.

Community Emergency Hubs are places to gather and support each other during and after a disaster like an earthquake. They are opened and run entirely by the community, using their local knowledge, skills and resources to tackle the immediate challenges presented by a disaster.

Te Horo shows us how their Community Emergency Hub has been a great place to get to know your neighbour for a great purpose, to prepare their Hub and know what to do during and after a disaster.

Find out about your local Community Emergency Hub and learn how you and your community can get through together.

Arguments about money aren’t about money. They are about our dreams, our fears, and our inadequacies.

The key is not to focus on how much something costs. Instead, it’s to go beneath the dollar value to explore what money means to each person in the relationship.
