Kia Ora, I’m Brady Dyer, a local candidate standing for re-election as a city-wide councillor. At this years election you can choose up to six city-wide councillors, so I’m trying to rally a bit of homegrown support from my neighbours. I love living in this part of our city, and have really enjoyed making new friends since buying our first home here just over a year ago. Poll: Do you think NZ should ban social media for youth?
The Australian Prime Minister has expressed plans to ban social media use for children.
This would make it illegal for under 16-year-olds to have accounts on platforms including TikTok, Instagram, Facebook and X.
Social media platforms would be tasked with ensuring children have no access (under-age children and their parents wouldn’t be penalised for breaching the age limit)
