More success for Shaw clan
Lower Hutt based twins Mesha Shaw-Wallace and Zahr Shaw-Wallace both received Most Valuable Player Awards at the recent Lower North Island U17 softball tournaments. Both the Hutt Valley girls and boys teams beat Wellington in the final, to claim the title. The 16 year-olds come from a famous softball family. Grandmother Naomi Shaw captained the White Sox to their only world title win and their mother, Kiri, was also a longtime White Sox player. Father Craig Wallace is a former Black Sox and a stalwart of Hutt Valley softball. Zahr attends Silverstream St Pats and Mesha is at Whitby Collegiate.
Poll: Do you think NZ should ban social media for youth?
The Australian Prime Minister has expressed plans to ban social media use for children.
This would make it illegal for under 16-year-olds to have accounts on platforms including TikTok, Instagram, Facebook and X.
Social media platforms would be tasked with ensuring children have no access (under-age children and their parents wouldn’t be penalised for breaching the age limit)
.
