Seeking donations of face masks for former refugees
From my friend Grace Bobace: As most of you will know, it will be mandatory to wear facemasks on public transport from Monday next week. Many former refugees in New Zealand are reliant on public transport to get around but might struggle to afford or access facemasks once this new rule comes in place. I have organised with Red Cross to collect donations of reusable masks which the refugee support services office at Red Cross will distribute among their clients who need it.
If you would like to support this cause there are a few different ways you can do so.
1)If you are a crafty sewer you can donate some of your homemade masks.
2) you could support someone else who is making and selling masks by buying one or two to donate.
3) you could simply donate money which will be used to buy masks ($10 each) to donate from a couple of small business sewers in Lower Hutt.
I am happy to drive around wellington/Lower Hutt to collect mask donations or you can drop them in to my place if you just happen to find yourself passing through Stokes Valley. If you would like to donate money for me to buy masks to donate you can pop the money into this account: SW & MG Hiess 06-0773-0812545-05.
Thanks heaps! Please feel free to share this post with all your crafty/generous friends
