The brand new Hutt Comedy Club launches its first show on Friday 23rd February

From big screen to stage, comedy star Cohen Hollloway comes to the Hutt

The brand new Hutt Comedy Club launches its first show on Friday 23rd February with special headline act, Cohen Holloway.

As seen on blockbuster movies Thor, Hunt for the Wilderpeople, and What we do in the Shadows, Holloway makes a return to where he started out, live on stage.

His stories and impressions have entertained audiences across the country, in various comedy clubs as well as TV shows such as 7Days, and Maori TV's Find me a Maori Bride.

The two hour showcase will be MC'd by Wellington expat Sully O'Sullivan. Back for a short trip home from his comedy career in the UK, Sully has performed across the UK and Europe.

Speaking from his home base of Manchester, "This gig is great if for no other reason than just how ridiculous it makes my February diary look: Lichfield, Liverpool, Ormskirk, Thorton-Cleveleys, Stoke Upon Trent, Stafford, Lower Hutt...."

Sully has been described as 'quintessentially Kiwi comedy' by The Press, and a
'a blast of hilarity' by the Manchester Evening News.

Newcomers Kris Beattie, Sri Nair, Grace Leung and Tui Christie round out the line up, ensuring this show will have a little something for everyone.

Taking place in the Hutt Old Boys Marist Clubrooms, the Hutt Comedy Club is set to become a regular feature in the valley, bringing the best of local and national talent to the heart of the Hutt.

Tickets are available from Eventfinda.co.nz and the clubrooms.

Poll: Do you think NZ should ban social media for youth?

The Team from Neighbourly.co.nz

The Australian Prime Minister has expressed plans to ban social media use for children.

This would make it illegal for under 16-year-olds to have accounts on platforms including TikTok, Instagram, Facebook and X.
Social media platforms would be tasked with ensuring children have no access (under-age children and their parents wouldn’t be penalised for breaching the age limit)
.
Do you think NZ should follow suit? Vote in our poll and share your thoughts below.
