- Female Mentors for Students (REF 1043)
This is a wonderful opportunity for you to pass on your experience and knowledge to our vulnerable youth who are going through a difficult time in their lives. You'll be working on a one-on-one basis taking part in various activities and providing support to the student. Full mentor training is provided. The right fit for this role is someone who's compassionate, fun loving, energetic and has a great attitude. Seeing your mentee's positive growth over time with your help is an inspiring and rewarding experience!

Avalon cycleway (well, shared path actually!)
Fantastic to see the city continue to invest in making getting to school safer on bikes.
The city's getting denser. Every commute should feel like what it does during school holidays. The only way to get that to happen is when parents feel comfortable with their kids riding bikes and walking to school.
I've heard a few people moan that there's no bikes, so there's no need for a cycleway. But the lack of bikes is exactly the point. It indicates that people don't feel like bikes are a valid option.
Cycleways work all around the world. There's no magical curse which means that they won't work here too.
