Mr December
Meet Mister December in my Wild birds of New Zealand 2022 calendar. He obviously didn't get the memo about being a "stately royal spoonbill". I'm in a hide at Pauatahanui, but he totally knows I'm there and is clacking his just desserts spoon at me in case I was thinking of doing anything funny. Royal spoonbill/kōtuku ngutupapa (Platalea regia).
The calendars are a large A3 size and $28 each. I've heard they make a lovely Christmas present or you can keep it for yourself and have this handsome lad hanging in your kitchen for a whole month. Poll: Do you think banning gang patches is reasonable?
With the government cracking down on gangs, it is now illegal for gang members to display their insignia in public places whether through clothing or their property.
This means arrests can be made if these patches are worn in places like restaurants, shops, on public transport or ferries, and on airplanes. Arrests were made recently at a funeral.

An Auckland court has ruled a woman doesn’t have to contribute towards the cost of fixing a driveway she shares with 10 neighbours.
