Holy moly,do I EVER see clients make progress in their relationships when they build this muscle!
The trick is to recognize that you don't need to AGREE with the other person's perspective or condone their actions - because this isn't about who's right!
Rather, the point is to build connection by creating understanding with the other person: this requires getting your mind inside their point of view, their story, their inner world.
There has, perhaps, never been a time when we have needed to do this MORE.
If we are going to improve relationships - which, I believe, is the single greatest intervention we can make to change the world we live in -
we must start by learning to understand folks we disagree with: in our relationship,families, our workplaces, our communities, our world.

The Australian Prime Minister has expressed plans to ban social media use for children.
This would make it illegal for under 16-year-olds to have accounts on platforms including TikTok, Instagram, Facebook and X.
Social media platforms would be tasked with ensuring children have no access (under-age children and their parents wouldn’t be penalised for breaching the age limit)
