Summer Pools Open! ๐
Todayโs the day! McKenzie Baths and Wainuiomata Summer Pool are open for the summer season ๐
It should come as no surprise we have additional health and safety measures in place in the face of COVID-19 and to reflect Alert Level 2 requirements.
Here are some golden rules for you to follow if you plan to make a trip to take a dip:
โ
Scan in using the NZ COVID tracer app
โ
Keep a two metre distance from others (who are not in your bubble)
โ Please stay home if youโre feeling unwell โ and if you have cold or flu symptoms please get tested!
Our team will be closely monitoring visitor numbers to enforce limits (these vary depending on the size of the facility, but essentially mean we are operating at half-capacity).
Thank you in advance for following the above guidance โ it helps us keep everyone safe, and our facilities open for our community to enjoy.

Kia ora neighbours. If you've got a family recipe for courgettes, we'd love to see it and maybe publish it in our magazine. Send your recipe to mailbox@nzgardener.co.nz, and if we use it in the mag, you will receive a free copy of our January 2025 issue.
Poll: Do you think NZ should ban social media for youth?
The Australian Prime Minister has expressed plans to ban social media use for children.
This would make it illegal for under 16-year-olds to have accounts on platforms including TikTok, Instagram, Facebook and X.
Social media platforms would be tasked with ensuring children have no access (under-age children and their parents wouldnโt be penalised for breaching the age limit)
.
