Coloured hair, piercings and lava lavas okay at Wairarapa College
If students at Wairarapa’s biggest high school want to colour their hair, sport multiple piercings, or wear traditional Pasifika dress, they can now go for it.
Wairarapa College has relaxed its rules around dress.
The new rules:
- Students’ hair can be whatever colour they wish.
- They can have any number of earrings and a maximum of two facial piercings.
- Students may wear a necklace under the shirt collar.
- Visible tattoos require consent from a parent/guardian.
- All uniform items may be worn through the year.
- Sun hats, beanies, lava lava/ie faitaga are optional.
- Girls can wear trousers and/or culottes
What do you think of the new rules?
Poll: Should all neighbours have to contribute to improvements?
An Auckland court has ruled a woman doesn’t have to contribute towards the cost of fixing a driveway she shares with 10 neighbours.
When thinking about fences, driveways or tree felling, for example, do you think all neighbours should have to pay if the improvements directly benefit them?
