DIY solar panel heats home for $1.50 a year
Hey neighbours, how's this for some home heating ingenuity?
With a freezing family home in Kaikohe and a tiny budget, Terry Johnson got creative with some empty drink cans to create a solar heating panel that cost about $1.50 a year to run and boosted the temperature indoors by about seven degrees. Find out how he made it, here.

With the government cracking down on gangs, it is now illegal for gang members to display their insignia in public places whether through clothing or their property.
This means arrests can be made if these patches are worn in places like restaurants, shops, on public transport or ferries, and on airplanes. Arrests were made recently at a funeral.
