Ardern to turn sod on 'not fit for purpose' West Coast health centre
A long-promised new health facility in Westport is not fit for purpose, according to a community health advocate.
Prime Minister Jacinda Ardern is turning the first sod of the $20 million Buller Integrated Family Health Centre (IFHC) in Westport on Friday.
However, it is too small, $10m cheaper than first promised nine years ago and is still months away from construction starting.
Buller Hospital Action Group spokesman Paul Scanlon said the community had lost health services in the three years under the Labour-led Government.
Poll: Should all neighbours have to contribute to improvements?
An Auckland court has ruled a woman doesn’t have to contribute towards the cost of fixing a driveway she shares with 10 neighbours.
When thinking about fences, driveways or tree felling, for example, do you think all neighbours should have to pay if the improvements directly benefit them?
