Songs and Tributes to ‘Explorer’ Douglas
A Hokitika Museum Fundraiser
A performance of songs unique to the Coast by folk duo Ktoo .
Ktoo is comprised of Kevin McLoughlin and Kevin Ikin who will be performing songs they have written and collected that tell stories of the West Coast. Ktoo are Wellington based , but both have family links to the West Coast.
For this performance they will be paying a special tribute to ‘Explorer’ Charlie Douglas – the pioneering surveyor who explored and mapped much of Westland.
As well as Ktoo’s performance the concert will feature West Coast poet Dave Ogle and a short film on the life of Charlie Douglas will be screened. Ktoo’s album ‘Land of the West’ includes two songs about Charlie Douglas – one of them based on a poem by Dave Ogle.
A cash bar will be available. Tickets from the Hokitika’s Regent Theatre or door sales.
