Geoff from Central Whangarei

Good People

PLEASE NOTE: Our upcoming film screenings for the next few weeks at Forum North will be on TUESDAYS not Thursdays as the venue is not available then.

So, on TUESDAY, the 11th June at 6pm, WFS will be screening the delightful documentary giving insight into the life and times of Noel Coward - Mad about the Boy.

Our 8pm screening will be the powerful and mesmerizing film, Goodbye Julia.

MAD ABOUT THE BOY
UK, 2023, Documentary, 91 mins, Rated M
Cast: Maggie Smith, Lucille Ball, Laurence Olivier, Frank Sinatra, Rupert Everett, David Niven, Michael Caine, Harold Pinter.

A remembrance of Noel Coward's life and career as playwright, director and composer.

Sir Noël grew up in poverty and left school at nine years old. Yet, by 30, he was the world's highest paid writer and a star on Broadway.

Coward wrote, directed and acted in some of the finest plays of all time. And, he was also a spy during the Second World War!

Against all odds, Coward defined an era and led an extraordinary life. This is his inspirational story, told in his own words and music and unique home movies.

"If anyone wants matchless wit and style, watch Mad About the Boy. - Independent

Poll: Would you commute by public transport if it was free?

The Team from Neighbourly.co.nz

Using your car is convenient, except for finding parking.

Cycling lets you leave anytime, but you might arrive soaked.

So, neighbours, if public transport had the perk of being free, would it be your main way to commute?

Poll: Does grocery bagging affect where you shop?

The Team from Neighbourly.co.nz

There's only a few differences between our larger chain supermarkets here in New Zealand. Having someone bag your groceries is one of them.

Does having your groceries packed for you at the checkout influence where you do your grocery shop? If so, tell us why.
