LOCAL, BOLD, STROLLABLE: Fringe in the 'Stings - The Hastings Fringe Festival
Posting on behalf of the Hastings Fringe Festival - Please share with your whānau and friends
On the 1st, 2nd, 8th and 9th of October, Fringe in the ‘Stings will kick off, bringing the community around the visual and performing arts in Heretaunga and wider Hastings. Moving onto our sixth year, Fringe in the ‘Stings has become a growing grassroots movement and safe space for emerging and seasoned artists across the bay.
We pride ourselves on sourcing local and out-of-town talent to showcase to our public. We are a boldly diverse, strollable and accessible festival. We’re about incubating talent by providing space for artists to participate, learn and grow; many of our artists eventually move on from Fringe to other festivals and platforms.
We have something for everyone, from family and kid shows during the day and hilarious, dramatic, provoking shows under the cover of darkness.
Enjoy the night life of Heretaunga, watch a show, have something to eat and drink and be part of the madness and awesomeness that is the Hastings Fringe!
Tickets available on www.fringeinthestings.co.nz... from the end of August. Programme release by September.

Poll: Do you think NZ should ban social media for youth?
The Australian Prime Minister has expressed plans to ban social media use for children.
This would make it illegal for under 16-year-olds to have accounts on platforms including TikTok, Instagram, Facebook and X.
Social media platforms would be tasked with ensuring children have no access (under-age children and their parents wouldn’t be penalised for breaching the age limit)
.
