Pick The Bay - Summer work opportunities

Communications from Hastings District Council

INFORMATION SESSION AND JOB SIGN UP

Free entry. Bookings not required.

Drop into a relaxed afternoon to meet growers from across the Bay and chat about your next job.

It’s not all long hours and hard labour – there’s flexibility to suit everyone.

• Worried you might not be physically strong or fit enough?
• Keen to work but don’t have transport?
• Prefer to work school hours to balance your childcare needs?
• Need summer work in your study break?
• Want to work less in January to spend with the family or head to the beach?

Our growers need a reliable team – they’re keen to offer roles that will accommodate everyone. With different varieties of fruit comes different types of work. You might be surprised what’s on offer. Come and have a chat to find out more. There’s work available from November.

Poll: Do you think banning gang patches is reasonable?

The Team from Neighbourly.co.nz

With the government cracking down on gangs, it is now illegal for gang members to display their insignia in public places whether through clothing or their property.

This means arrests can be made if these patches are worn in places like restaurants, shops, on public transport or ferries, and on airplanes. Arrests were made recently at a funeral.

Do you think this ban is reasonable?
