Do you have a skill you would like to share with the community?

The Team from Red Cross - Hastings Service Centre

We are on the hunt for people who have a skill and would be willing to donate their time and expertise to hold a community classes and share it with the wider Hastings Community.

We have a great space at the Red Cross - Hastings Service Centre and would like to offer classes such as zumba, walk/run group, yoga, pilates, line dancing, language lessons, crochet, card/jewellery making, meditation, floral arranging, gardening, book club... if you have any idea and are willing to teach it we would love to hear from you!

Hooked on adventure

Princess Alexandra Retirement Village

Neil’s love for fishing stretches back as far as he can remember. From catching sprats on the farm as a young boy to representing New Zealand on the world stage, it’s always been his passion. These days, as a Bruce McLaren Village resident, Neil finds nothing more enjoyable than casting a line, surrounded by scenic vistas and the melodies of native birds, before releasing his catch back into the water.

An experienced fishing guide, Neil shares his love of fly fishing with his new mate and village neighbour, David. While they met in the village, the pair are often mistaken for lifelong friends. Like Neil, David has always been an active person.
