One myth about sport every parent should know
All parents and grandparents should be aware of this myth about youth sport: Following an intensive training programme in a single sport at a young age does not increase your kid’s chances of becoming a world champion. A more realistic outcome is early burnout, loss of motivation and potential mental health issues in later life.
Since 2008 we’ve seen a 60% surge in sporting injuries among under 14s. This is twice that of any other age group.

It all began when Bert Sutcliffe Village resident Marie began arranging evenings at the theatre for her neighbours.
