Footpaths
Please donāt park across footpaths. Itās not only illegal, it leads to dangerous behaviour.
We have approximately 19 schools, kura and early child centres, plus 5 rest homes, and 2 disability residential centres, in Havelock North alone.
Parking over the footpaths restricts peopleās safe movements, by forcing people who are trying to use the footpaths to go onto roads to get where they need to go.
It may inconvenience you, momentarily, to have to park further away and walk, but you endanger others by blocking the footpath. Please donāt.
Imagine you, or your loved one trying to walk with a stroller, or travel in a mobility scooter or wheelchair, trying to get past your car, blocking the footpath. What risk will they have to take, to get by?
The same thing applies to mobility parks. They arenāt there for you to just āpop in and out real quickā.
Your āreal quickā is a long time for someone with limited mobility, or health issues.
