What's your favorite outdoor spot around Hawke's Bay this summer?
Head outdoors this summer but stay safe and respect New Zealand's environment, is the message from Hawke's Bay's Department of Conservation.
DOC is encouraging travellers to practise the Outdoors Care Code when preparing for trips.
This includes planning and sharing plans, being aware of weather conditions, knowing your limits and taking sufficient supplies.
Poll: Do you think banning gang patches is reasonable?
With the government cracking down on gangs, it is now illegal for gang members to display their insignia in public places whether through clothing or their property.
This means arrests can be made if these patches are worn in places like restaurants, shops, on public transport or ferries, and on airplanes. Arrests were made recently at a funeral.
