NZ Red Cross Street Appeal 2021

The Team from Red Cross - Waikato Service Centre

From the 15th to the 21st of March NZ Red Cross is holding our annual street appeal throughout New Zealand. On Friday the 19th and Saturday the 20th of March we will be hitting the streets of Hamilton to ask you to dig deep and help to support the vulnerable in your community.

We have had a number of awesome volunteers come forward to collect but we have a couple of last minute sites we are keen to fill if you can give us two hours of your time.

Friday 19 March
* Bunnings Te Rapa- 4 to 6pm
* Countdown Dinsdale - 2 to 4 pm, 4 to 6pm
* Countdown Hamilton Central - 12 to 2pm, 4 to 6pm
* Count Down Te Rapa - 9 to 11am, 1 to 3pm, 3 to 5pm, 5 to 7pm
* Countdown Rototuna - 12 to 2pm, 4 to 6pm
* New World Te Rapa - 9 to 11am, 11am to 1pm, 1 to 3pm, 3 to 5pm, 5 to 7pm

Saturday 20 March
* Countdown Dinsdale - 10am to 12noon
* Countdown Hamilton Central - 12noon - 2pm
* Countdown Te Rapa - 9am to 11am, 1pm to 3pm

What would you do if it was your job to fix Hamilton's CBD?

More alcohol restrictions, more lighting, busking rule changes and a whole lot of lobbying - these are some ways Hamilton leaders want to sort out the CBD.

Crime and anti-social behaviour in the area has been in the spotlight after recent news of a man defecating in the street near a city pub and another who flipped tables out the back of a bar after being found scrounging cigarette butts and asked to leave.

What would you do if it was your job to fix Hamilton's CBD? Tell us your reasons in the comments (adding NFP if you don't want your words used in print).
