Local hero nominated for NZ'er of the year!

The Editor from Te Kowhai Newsletter

Te Kowhai resident and Director of agricultural services company, SBC Group, Nathan Spitzer, has been nominated for New Zealander of the Year!

You may recall the story from the Waikato Times a few weeks ago where Nathan jumped into the Waikato River to rescue a young girl from drowning.

You might not know that Nathan is a huge asset to our community in more ways than one. He volunteers for the Ngaruawahia Fire Brigade, is a member of the Te Kowhai Community Group and has volunteered many hours around the community. He's always willing to lend a hand, has a growing business and a growing young family, but always has time for his community.

PLEASE VOTE for Nathan in this competition. One vote per email address.

What do you think of this 11-year-old's chosen cause?

Libby Totton Reporter from Waikato Times

A Whangamatā 11-year-old has placed his award-winning mullet up for auction to raise money for Starship Hospital.

Kahū Hall, who named himself ‘Taco’ when he was three years old, is selling his mullet after growing it for three years. Taco said he was motivated to raise the money after his friend Evie Taylor stayed at Starship Hospital for a heart operation.

What do you think of this 11-year-old's chosen cause? Tell us in the comments (adding NFP if you don't want your words used in print).
