Te Kowhai News - May issue

The Editor from Te Kowhai Newsletter

Hi neighbours!

This issue features your food photos of which there are a few. As well as an interview with the sweet-talking fast-moving Edwina Prendergast. The nearly 92 year old fabulous local who's not afraid of a bit of hard graft. Quite possibly the most incredible person I've ever interviewed.

Graham McBride our local historian has supplied another local history story to continue the 'roads of Te Kowhai' series.

Remember, his stories are all available in his Tales of Te Kowhai book. You can order one direct from Graham by giving him a bell on 07 829 7726.

Te Kowhai Cafe is open for business. They do a mean pie, a fast coffee and a wicked egg and bean bagel stack for breakfast.

Anyway, enough from me.

Te Kowhai News is delivered free to all homes and businesses in RD8. Or check out your digital copy here.

Poll: Do you think a partial demolition is the right call?

Libby Totton Reporter from Waikato Times

One of the most recognisable buildings at Waikato Diocesan School for Girls could be demolished, except for part of the façade.

The school is asking for resource consent to knock down most of the earthquake-prone Cherrington House as part of plans to build a larger, safer administration block.

Do you think a partial demolition is the right call? Tell us your reasons in the comments (adding NFP if you don't want your words used in print).

The Team from Neighbourly.co.nz

Gift-giving looks a lot different these days when you can pick up super-cheap goods made overseas. But do they last?

Poll: Would you like to do this?

Libby Totton Reporter from Waikato Times

The opportunity to www.waikatotimes.co.nz...
|get up close to an 11-month-old tiger cub|, a porcupine, a tuatara or the siamangs could be the perfect Christmas stocking fillers.

The Hamilton Zoo already offers encounters with macaws, tigers, ring-tailed lemurs and rhinos, however soon the others will be on offer.
