EarthDiverse Term 4 Philosophy courses
EarthDiverse is please to announce its Term 4 courses beginning the week starting Monday 18 October. Our new Philosophy series offers the following courses and discussion groups:
• PHL204: “The Big Questions: Food and Philosophy”: an evening of group discussion around a topic of the host's choosing, along with a fine shared meal with friends new and old.
• PHL304: “Death Café: Conversations About Mortality” weekly discussion group
• PHL310: “Robots, Cloning, Artificial Life: The Ethics of Emerging Technologies”
Eight weekly sessions.

Several feared dead after car and train collide
A neighbour has described the horrifying scene he came across when a train and car collided in Hamilton on Wednesday morning.
The man and his partner, who didn’t want to be named, live four houses back from the Peachgrove Rd rail crossing where the incident occurred at around 4.30am.

Poll: Do you think NZ should ban social media for youth?
The Australian Prime Minister has expressed plans to ban social media use for children.
This would make it illegal for under 16-year-olds to have accounts on platforms including TikTok, Instagram, Facebook and X.
Social media platforms would be tasked with ensuring children have no access (under-age children and their parents wouldn’t be penalised for breaching the age limit)
