Precautionary shutdown of city water main

The Team from Hamilton City Council

River levels which could potentially affect the Eastern Bulk Water Main repair site have meant Council has halted supply from this water main until the site can be assessed. The shutdown is precautionary only, and does not affect water quality. It does mean that the city will be supplied from just the Western Main for around 48 hours, so residents are asked to reduce non-essential water use where possible to reduce pressure issues across the network. Effects are likely to be lower water pressure in some elevated areas of the eastern suburbs, particularly Hillcrest, but if you have a water outage please contact our 24-hour call centre on 838 6699.
