Railways in Morrinsville
The railway line from Auckland to Hamilton opened in 1877. It took another 7 years for the line between Hamilton and Morrinsville to open.
Morrinsville then became a very busy station, servicing towns across the region.
Come and see the newly opened exhibition "Keeping the Trains on the Track" which features machinery and a timeline of the opening and closing of tracks to and from Morrinsville.
A further interest to the women is a story that uses mannequins to show costumes of the 1930s. The story is of two women residents of Morrinsville in the 30s who plan to go by train to Auckland to a dance recital in St Sepulchre's Hall in Symonds Street.
The Exhibition is open until March 2017. Bring your visitors for an informative and interesting visit.
Poll: Do you think NZ should ban social media for youth?
The Australian Prime Minister has expressed plans to ban social media use for children.
This would make it illegal for under 16-year-olds to have accounts on platforms including TikTok, Instagram, Facebook and X.
Social media platforms would be tasked with ensuring children have no access (under-age children and their parents wouldn’t be penalised for breaching the age limit)
.
Do you think NZ should follow suit? Vote in our poll and share your thoughts below.

Now, if human remains found near a Tokoroa creek turn out to be his, it’ll resolve at least one of her many questions.
