Did you hear about the rescue helicopter crash-landing on Tuesday?

It was on the way to pick up an injured tramper when it had to crash-land on Mt Pirongia.

Fortunately no-one was injured.

The Civil Aviation Authority has now issued a Protection of Aircraft Wreckage notice to keep people out of the area.
