Back where it belongs
Hi neighbours,
It was a special day in the newsroom on Monday as Stuff's chief executive Sinead Boucher announced a management buyout of the company, of which the Waikato Times is a part, from its Australian owner Nine Entertainment.
It puts an end to NZME's increasingly desperate bid to get its clutches on Stuff. It also puts it firmly in the hands of those who want the best for it, a NZ owner who understands the business.
What's your view on the Times moving back into NZ hands?

Poll: Do you go to live music gigs?
It’s “tough” running dive bars and speakeasies but a growing association is shaking up the New Zealand independent music scene.
These are the places where rising stars cut their teeth, members say, but they’re challenged by noise restrictions, alcohol licensing rules and the need to take on multiple tasks outside booking bands.
Do you go to live music gigs? Tell us your reasons in the comments (adding NFP if you don't want your words used in print).
