Future ownership of Hamilton’s historic Hockin House beside Waikato Hospital is up in the air, with potential for it and ongoing costs to end up in the city council’s hands.

The heritage-listed and “very special” Hockin House, built in 1893, is a late Victorian era dwelling that was the residence of the first four superintendents of the hospital.
