Hamilton Book Month on throughout August
Hamilton Book Month is on again this August with 21 events running through the month. There's fiction, wine writers, storytelling, an open mic night, lit pub quiz, a local authors event, writing competition, a talk by a self-published author about her 65 books, blokes' book club, Witi Ihimaera evening, lit salon, children's and picture book authors etc. There's also workshops on scriptwriting, speculative fiction, writing children's fiction, poetry and memoir. Are you following the water charge discussions at Hamilton City Council?
Hamilton city councillors have taken tangible steps towards a new water regime that will see a charge based on their property’s capital valuation in their rates bill for the first time next year.
The council voted unanimously on Thursday on a series of direction-setting decisions in relation to the 2024-2034 Long-Term Plan Amendments.
