Architectural images reveal new multimillion-dollar centre at West Coast tourist hotspot
Architectural images of a multimillion-dollar plan to redevelop a congested centre at a tourist hotspot on the West Coast have been revealed.
The Dolomite Point Experience Centre, opposite the popular Pancake Rocks in Punakaiki, is being funded with about $26 million from the Government’s Provincial Growth Fund and will replace the almost 40-year-old Department of Conversation visitor centre.
A pedestrian crossing of State Highway 6, parking lots, walkways, a pedestrian promenade, toilets, landscaping work and cycle pathways would accompany the centre.

Tidying the house before going to bed each night, meditating upon waking or taking the stairs at work.
What’s something quick, or easy, that you started doing that made a major positive change in your life?
What word sums up 2024, neighbours?
If 2020 was the year of lockdowns, banana bread, and WFH (work from home)....
In one word, how would you define 2024?
We're excited to see what you come up with!
