Miniature Bearded Iris...potted in flower now.
This dear little iris is the first of my irises to flower this season.
It's called 'Mary B'. It only grows about 30cms high.
Has got delicately shaded mauve standards and darkish plum falls edged with white and a bright white beard. '
That's a lot to pack into a pingpong ball size flower.
There are quite a number of rhizomes in this pot with other buds coming. Could be slipped out of its pot and it would hardly know.
Suitable for a rockery, border edge and do well in pots. They like the sun and drought tolerant after a year or two.
They like their rhizomes sitting on top of the soil where they can sunbathe and even get frosted.
It is growing in an 8 inch shallow pot. quite happily.
Pickup is in Kuripuni.
Poll: Do you think NZ should ban social media for youth?
The Australian Prime Minister has expressed plans to ban social media use for children.
This would make it illegal for under 16-year-olds to have accounts on platforms including TikTok, Instagram, Facebook and X.
Social media platforms would be tasked with ensuring children have no access (under-age children and their parents wouldn’t be penalised for breaching the age limit)
.
